Marshal S. Callaway
MARSHAL S. CALLAWAY, farmer, Washington, Wilkes County,
Georgia, son of Seaborn and Mildred (Jordan) Callaway, daughter of Jordan, of Oglethorpe
County, Georgia, was born in Wilkes County, August 2, 1847, the fourth of eight children,
five sons and three daughters, one of each being dead. He was reared on the farm and attended
the country schools until he was fourteen years old, when his father died and he had to work
on the farm and help keep it up.
